About Us
Baxter’s Buddies is a new OSCAR Programme for the Halswell Area of Christchurch.
Why Choose Us?
Our carers are all parents with many years of combined experience, working in the teaching, education and home care areas of child care.
We collect the children daily from a designated pickup spot within Halswell, Ladbrooks, Seven Oaks, Oaklands and Our Lady of Assumption schools. New entrants and new children to our program are collected from their classrooms until they are comfortable assembling at the meeting spot. Children are transported to and from school in our Baxter’s Buddies vans.
Our behaviour management style is of encouraging children to make good choices a daily habit. We do this by rewarding the children consistently for any behaviour that has a positive effect on themselves and others. Through our interactions with the children and one another, we are constantly modelling good behaviour choices. We also encourage the children to nominate their buddies, when they see behaviour worthy of reward! On Fun Fridays we have a weekly draw for children who have been nominated for great behaviour through the week, with small prizes given out! We discuss with your children regularly, the consequences of any negative behaviours, so that they are fully aware of these.
We do not provide WINZ subsidies at present.
